Education Paraprofessional

The Community School is a private K-12 special education college prep day school in Bergen County. Serving students in New Jersey and New York, The Community School specializes in educating students with language-based learning disabilities and ADHD. Role Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for an Education Paraprofessional at Community High School located in Teaneck, NJ. The Education Paraprofessional will assist in the classroom by supporting students with special needs, particularly those with language-based learning disabilities and ADHD. Daily tasks include providing individualized attention, facilitating classroom activities, aiding in lesson plan implementation, and collaborating with teachers to monitor student progress. The aim is to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Strong skills in Communication and Childcare
- Experience and knowledge in Education and Teaching
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with educators
- Patience, empathy, and dedication to helping students succeed
- Relevant certifications or coursework in special education is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred but not required
- 60 college credits required for a substitute certification
